My experience
Denese is a highly experienced relationship counsellor offering online couples therapy via Zoom . A certified Imago Therapist and certified sex therapy-informed professional and integrative practitioner, she draws on over 23 years of experience helping couples break painful cycles, improve communication, and reconnect emotionally and physically.
What I do
Even strong relationships can begin to feel distant, stuck or emotionally disconnected over time. Whether you are struggling with communication, intimacy, recurring arguments, trust after an affair, or simply feeling more like housemates than partners, couples therapy can help you understand what is happening beneath the surface and begin reconnecting in a deeper, healthier way.
I am a specialist couples therapist with a Master’s Degree in Counselling, Certified Imago Relationship Therapy training, and psychosexual-informed expertise. I work with couples across the UK online, helping partners move beyond blame, resentment and emotional disconnection toward greater understanding, intimacy and lasting change.
My approach is warm, supportive and practical — creating a calm space where both partners feel heard, respected and understood.
As a BACP member, I follow their code of ethics, undertake regular supervision and ongoing professional development, and hold full professional indemnity insurance.
Background and experience
I have worked with couples for more than two decades, helping them address relationship challenges ranging from communication problems and trust issues to navigating major life changes.
My training in Imago Therapy gives me a strong foundation for supporting couples in moving from disconnection back towards closeness. Alongside this, my integrative approach allows me to draw on a variety of methods so the therapy is always shaped around each couple’s needs.
